Happy Hour Menu – Pretzel Roll Sliders and Martinis

This simple menu is perfect for any Friday night get together with friends.  If you make the Habanero Spiked Ketchup (see recipe) and the Creamy Peperoncini Caper Relish (see recipe) a day or two ahead of time then all you have to do when Friday night rolls around is grill a few quick burgers, assemble and shake those martinis!  Ahhhhh….nothing better than relaxing with friends after a long week.  Cheers friends!

1.  Form the ground beef into 6 patties each a little wider than the rolls so that when they cook they end up the size of the roll.  Season well with salt and pepper.

2. Preheat a cast iron pan or grill on medium high to high.  When hot cook the burgers to desired doneness, about 3-4 minutes per side for medium to medium rare  Add the cheese for the last minute of cooking and cover the pan with another pan to melt it (or shut the grill lid).

3.  Heat pretzel rolls on the grill, if desired.  Assemble burgers on rolls and serve with lettuce, Habanero Spiked Ketchup, and Peperoncini Caper Relish.

  1. Chill the martini glasses in the freezer for 15 minutes.
  2. Fill a martini shaker with ice and add in the vodka and vermouth.  Shake and pour into the chilled martini glass. Add the olive garnish.  Repeat for friends.
